Ralph Berg
Executive Vice President and Global Head of Infrastructure, Toronto/London
Ralph Berg

In his role as Executive Vice President and Global Head of Infrastructure, Ralph leads the OMERS Infrastructure team on a global basis.

Since joining OMERS in February 2013, he has been a key member of the Infrastructure investment team, playing a leadership role in investment origination, acquisition and asset management including with Caruna, Ellevio and Net4Gas.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Ralph was a Managing Director and the Head of the European Energy & Power Team at Credit Suisse, where he spent seven years advising clients in M&A, IPO and structured finance transactions. Before that, he worked in the Energy team at Deutsche Bank in New York and London for almost 12 years. He has transaction and advisory experience on infrastructure investments as diverse as power generation, transmission, distribution, oil and gas exploration, production, transport, refining and distribution, as well as water and waste.

Ralph holds a Law Degree from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.

John Knowlton
Executive Vice President, Legal, Toronto
John Knowlton

John is currently Executive Vice President, Legal, responsible for leading the OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity legal teams. John started at OMERS Infrastructure in 2005.

John is active with several investments and is, or has been, on the board of numerous investments, including LifeLabs, DynaLife and Teranet. Prior to this, John was senior legal counsel at Bombardier Transportation, where he advised on the pursuit of new transit projects around the globe, including Greece, South Korea, the U.K., Canada and the U.S. John began his career at Torys LLP.

John holds an Honours BA (Economics) from University of Western Ontario, and an MBA and LL.B. from University of Ottawa.

John's Executive Assistant is Phyllis Ianni.

Serena Lefort
Executive Vice President, Finance Operations & Tax, Toronto
Serena Lefort

Serena is currently Executive Vice President, Finance Operations & Tax and, in that capacity, leads the finance and tax groups of both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity. She is also the Head of Tax for OMERS.

Serena came on board in 2012 as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer to oversee all aspects of the private equity finance function, including tax structuring and supporting the direct drive strategy. She is a former M&A Tax Partner at KPMG LLP, and was the Chief Financial Officer of a Canadian national pharmaceutical distributor, where she gained extensive hands-on strategic, operational and M&A experience.

Serena has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and holds the CPA and CA designations.

Serena's Executive Assistant is Agnes Kusnierz.

Arlette Edmunds
Vice President, Human Resources, Toronto
Arlette Edmunds

Arlette is Vice President, Human Resources with OMERS Private Markets and, in that capacity, she leads the Human Resources function for both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity across global offices in Toronto, New York, London and Sydney.

Prior to joining in 2013, Arlette was a successful entrepreneur, creating an online retailer of children’s clothing and accessories. Before that, Arlette spent more than 15 years in human resources in the financial industry, where she worked with management teams at TD Securities in capital markets, including leading the Employee Experience globally, at Merrill Lynch, working in wealth management, and consulting for Deloitte in Financial Advisory Services. 

Arlette studied business administration at Seneca College in Toronto, and has her post-diploma in Human Resources. She is a Certified Human Resources Professional and a Certified Human Resources Leader.

Philippe Busslinger
Senior Managing Director, Europe, London
Philippe Busslinger

In his role as Senior Managing Director, OMERS Infrastructure Europe, Philippe is based in London where he leads the transaction team, the acquisition of infrastructure businesses, and the active management of portfolio companies in Europe. Since joining OMERS Infrastructure in January 2009, he has been a key member of the European investment and asset management team, playing a leadership role in investment origination and execution, and in supporting some of our key portfolio companies in Europe. Philippe is a non-executive board member of Associated British Ports and Tank & Rast.

Philippe has a strong background in investment banking and, prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, advising clients on transactions in excess of $40 billion across Europe. Philippe started his career as an analyst with McKinsey & Company.

He has a Business degree from ICADE (Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Spain) and an MBA from Columbia Business School (Columbia University, U.S.)

Sebastien Sherman
Senior Managing Director, Americas, Toronto
Sebastien Sherman

In his role as Senior Managing Director, Americas, Sebastien leads OMERS Infrastructure’s Toronto- and New York-based infrastructure teams, the acquisition of infrastructure businesses, and the active management of portfolio companies in the Americas. Examples of Sebastien's asset management experience include: Airports Worldwide, Bruce Power, Ciel Satellite, HS1, Scotia Gas Networks and NET4GAS.

Sebastien has 13 years of experience originating, acquiring and managing large-scale infrastructure investments at OMERS Infrastructure. He has acquisition, asset management and board directorship experience in the Americas and in Europe in sectors including energy distribution networks, transmission pipelines, high-speed rail infrastructure, airports, satellites and power generation facilities.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Sebastien spent seven years with investment banks, including Morgan Stanley and RBC Capital Markets, advising on M&A transactions and financings. Earlier in his career, Sebastien also worked at the Bank of Canada, Canada’s central bank.

Sebastien has an Honours BA (Economics) from Queen’s University, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Kenton Bradbury
Managing Director, Asset Management, London
Kenton Bradbury

As Managing Director, Asset Management, Kenton is responsible for the active management of OMERS Infrastructure's investments, with a focus on Europe. His asset management experience includes: Caruna, Ellevio, NET4GAS, Scotia Gas Networks and Tank & Rast.

Kenton previously served as a Director at Infracapital (the infrastructure investment arm of M&G Investments), where he sat on the boards of various portfolio companies. Prior to Infracapital, he was SVP Infrastructure and Regulation at e.on, based in Germany. He began his career as a consultant working in the utilities and space sectors, and has held various senior operational and strategic roles in infrastructure businesses.

Kenton has a First Class Honours degree in engineering from Cambridge University, has attended the program for management development at Harvard, and is a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Paul Calder
Managing Director, Investment Risk Management, Toronto
Paul Calder

Paul currently serves as Managing Director, Investment Risk Management. In this role, he is responsible for providing direction and leadership to both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity in the ongoing development of a leading investment risk-management program to reduce volatility, actively manage portfolio and transaction-pursuit risk, and support the evolution of infrastructure investment strategies. Paul's asset management experience includes: Associated British Ports, DynaLIFE and Teranet.

Paul previously spent 10 years with Standard & Poor's in its infrastructure group, evaluating toll facilities, ports, airports, P3 projects, general transportation assets and public finance.

Paul has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Bishop’s University. He is a CFA® charterholder, and he has also obtained his Chartered Director (C. Dir.) designation.

Bruce R. Crane
Managing Director, New York
Bruce R. Crane

As Managing Director at OMERS Infrastructure, Bruce is responsible for sourcing and leading investment opportunities in the transportation and power-related infrastructure markets in the Americas. His asset management experiences include Chicago Skyway, GNL Quintero S.A and Midland Cogeneration Venture.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Bruce spent 10 years with UBS and Morgan Stanley, providing investment banking advisory services, and four years with Foster Wheeler as a field engineer.

Bruce holds a B.A.Sc. (Civil Engineering) from Lehigh University, and an MBA from Columbia University.

 

Christopher Curtain
Managing Director, Australia, Sydney
Christopher Curtain

In his role as Managing Director at OMERS Infrastructure, Christopher manages the Sydney office and is responsible for leading transaction teams in pursuit of large-scale, long-term infrastructure assets to expand the OMERS Infrastructure portfolio across Australia and Asia. Christopher has been with OMERS Infrastructure since January 2014.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Christopher spent seven years with GIC’s infrastructure team in London, leading transaction-execution teams and holding board director roles for major investments in utilities, power generation and midstream companies. Prior to GIC, Christopher spent eight years with PwC in Melbourne and London leading advisory mandates on numerous infrastructure projects across Australia, Asia and the U.K. He also previously held roles with the Reserve Bank of Australia and National Australia Bank.

Christopher holds a Bachelor of Business (Banking & Finance) from Victoria University, a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

John Guccione

John Guccione

In his role as Managing Director, Legal, John is a key member of the legal team at OMERS Infrastructure. He joined OMERS in November 2010. He provides legal advice to transaction teams in the London office regarding new investment opportunities and the management of existing assets. These have included: Associated British Ports, Caruna, Ellevio, HS1, NET4GAS, Scotia Gas Networks and Tank & Rast.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, John was a member of the energy and infrastructure group at Linklaters LLP in London (U.K.) and the corporate group at Torys LLP in Toronto. John has experience advising on a broad range of corporate, energy, infrastructure and financing matters.

John holds a BA from the University of Toronto, and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall, York University.

Jennifer Guerard
Managing Director, Legal, Toronto
Jennifer Guerard

As Managing Director, Legal with OMERS Infrastructure, Jennifer provides legal advice to transaction teams regarding new investment opportunities and the management of existing assets. Jennifer also oversees the compliance program for both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity.

Jennifer joined the team in 2013, initially as Director, Legal. Jennifer was previously at GE Capital, where she was Senior Counsel overseeing the Corporate Finance and Workout portfolios in both Canada and the U.S. Prior to joining GE Capital, Jennifer practiced at Torys LLP in Toronto and New York.

Jennifer has a BA (Honours) from University of Toronto, and an LL.B. from University of Windsor. Jennifer was previously recognized as Top 40 Under 40 by Lexpert magazine, and she is a Chartered Director. Jennifer is called to the bars in both Ontario and New York.

Alastair Hall
Managing Director, London
Alastair Hall

Alastair is a Managing Director at OMERS Infrastructure in London and is responsible for the origination, execution and management of infrastructure investments, with a focus on Europe.

Since joining OMERS in 2014, Alastair has completed the acquisition of Ellevio from Fortum, and the pre-emption, sale and syndication of a minority stake in Associated British Ports, among other projects. He leads the asset management teams for both Ellevio and ABP. Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Alastair worked in investment banking advising clients on European utilities and infrastructure transactions, most recently as a Director in the Natural Resources Group at Deutsche Bank and, prior to that, at BofA Merrill Lynch.

Alastair has an MA (Oxon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from University of Oxford.

Michael Holland

Michael is currently a Managing Director in OMERS Infrastructure's Toronto office, focused on transaction origination and execution, and asset management. Michael has been with OMERS Infrastructure since 2011.

Michael currently sits on the boards of Chicago Skyway and Teranet. Prior to OMERS Infrastructure, Michael was a Vice President, Investment Banking, with Macquarie Capital in Toronto, covering infrastructure clients. Michael began his career at CIBC.

Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University, and an MBA from the Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.

Michael Lank
Managing Director, Operations & Strategy, Toronto
Michael Lank

Mike is currently Managing Director, Operations & Strategy and, in that role, he works with investment and management teams at both OMERS Private Equity and OMERS Infrastructure to assess new investments, and define and execute value creation priorities. Mike joined Private Equity in 2006 to build the Operations & Strategy team.

Mike supports the portfolios of both the Private Equity and Infrastructure platforms. With Private Equity, Mike has been actively engaged in a number of current and prior investments in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, including Marketwired, Sysomos, ERM, Give & Go, V. Group, Husky, USIC and Nordco. Before this, Mike led the VoIP business at TELUS, following a number of other strategy and operations roles. Before TELUS, Mike was with the Boston Consulting Group for nearly seven years, leading strategy and operational improvement engagements across industries and geographies. Mike started his career in a private equity boutique focused on investments in Mexico and the U.S.

Mike has a BA from Queen’s University, and an MBA from Schulich School of Business, York University.

Annesley Wallace
Managing Director, Toronto
Annesley Wallace

Annesley joined OMERS Infrastructure in May 2012, and is currently responsible for managing infrastructure assets across the Americas. This includes working with the management teams of various portfolio companies to support strategy development and priorities that deliver and enhance long-term value for the pension fund. Annesley currently serves on the boards of Bruce Power, Midland Cogeneration Venture (MCV), Enersource, LifeLabs and DynaLIFE. 

An engineer with significant large-scale engineering and construction project experience, Annesley has expertise in sectors that include nuclear and thermal power, transmission and distribution, and renewable energy. Before joining OMERS Infrastructure, she held senior roles at SNC-Lavalin Inc., including Vice-President, Operations for the Energy & Industrial division.

Annesley holds Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) and Master of Science (Mechanical and Materials Engineering) degrees from Queens University, and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University. She is a registered Professional Engineer in the province of Ontario.

Christopher Young
Managing Director, Operations & Strategy, Toronto
Christopher Young

Christopher is currently Managing Director, Operations & Strategy, at OMERS Private Equity. In this role, he works with investment and management teams to assess new investments, and define and execute value-creation priorities. Christopher has been with Private Equity since 2012.

Christopher works across the Private Equity portfolio, and has engaged closely with teams at DTI, Kenan Advantage Group, Golfsmith, CEDA, Logibec and others. Before joining the team, Christopher was with Bain & Company for more than 10 years, where he was a leader in both the Private Equity and Industrials practices. He started his career working internationally with Procter & Gamble.

Christopher has a Bachelor of Science (Chemical Engineering) from Queen’s University, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Steven Zucchet
Managing Director, Toronto
Steven Zucchet

In his role as Managing Director at OMERS Infrastructure, Steven is responsible for originating and leading the pursuit of energy assets, primarily in North America. He has deep experience in the energy sector and, since joining OMERS Infrastructure in November 2003, he has led numerous transactions, and had asset management responsibilities on Oncor Electric Delivery Company, Midland Cogeneration Venture, Vento II and Bruce Power. Steven is a board member of Oncor and Bruce Power Inc.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Steven served as Chief Operating Officer at Enwave Energy, where he was responsible for overall operations and major infrastructure projects. Before that, he worked with an international consulting firm, primarily on transportation and energy-related projects.

Steven has a BA (Mechanical Engineering) and M. Eng (Mechanical Engineering) from the University of Toronto, and is a Professional Engineer.

Gonçalo Bernardo
Director, London
Gonçalo Bernardo

Gonçalo is currently a Director with OMERS Infrastructure, and in this role is involved with the origination, structuring and execution of investments across all European and North American markets. Gonçalo joined OMERS Infrastructure in 2016.

Prior to this role, Gonçalo was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, where he spent more than 10 years. During that time, he held a number of positions within the Investment Banking and Sales & Trading Divisions, in both Europe and Latin America.

Juan Camargo

Juan Camargo

In his role as Director at OMERS Infrastructure, Juan is responsible for the origination, acquisition and management of infrastructure assets, primarily in the Americas. His asset management duties have included Airports Worldwide.

Juan has extensive experience investing in large-scale infrastructure assets globally in both the transport and energy sectors, including toll roads, airports, parking, rail, electricity transmission and distribution, water, telecoms, and natural gas transport, storage, gathering and processing. Juan serves on various boards of directors relating to the Airports Worldwide portfolio.

After starting his infrastructure investment career at OMERS Infrastructure in 2006, Juan moved to Abu Dhabi in early 2008, as part of a group of investment professionals that developed ADIA’s infrastructure investment platform. Following six years at ADIA, Juan returned to OMERS Infrastructure in late 2013 to join the New York office, where he is currently based.

Juan has a B.Com degree from the University of Toronto, for which he earned the medal for best degree, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Luke D’Alves
Director, Third Party Capital, Toronto
Luke D’Alves

Luke has been with OMERS Infrastructure since 2005, and joined the group as a member of the transaction team focusing on energy and transportation infrastructure. In 2010, Luke joined the Third Party Capital group, which actively conducts client services within OMERS Infrastructure’s first third-party co-investment program: the Global Strategic Investment Alliance.

Luke is currently responsible for managing all Global Strategic Investment Alliance relationships on behalf of the infrastructure group. His asset management duties have included GSIA investments in: Associated British Ports, Caruna, Ellevio, Midland Cogeneration Venture and Tank & Rast.

Luke has an Honours Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

David Dubrovsky
Director, Investment Risk Management, Toronto
David Dubrovsky

David is Director, Investment Risk Management, at OMERS Private Markets. He previously served as Director, Legal with the OMERS Infrastructure team. Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure in 2013, David worked at Shearman & Sterling in New York, where he specialized in energy and infrastructure transactions, as well as general M&A. David’s practice also included a focus on aviation and aerospace.  

David holds a joint Common and Civil Law degree from McGill University, and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from the John Molson School of Business, Concordia University, and the University of Western Sydney in Australia. David is called to the Bar in Ontario and New York.

Kath Hammond
Director, Legal, Toronto

In Kath’s role as Director, Legal, she manages the legal aspects of new-platform acquisitions, supports portfolio companies and provides in-house legal support to OMERS Infrastructure.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure in April 2012, Kath was at Ontario Power Generation Inc. (OPG) for 11 years, where she held a number of legal and business roles, including Assistant General Counsel; Director, Hydroelectric Business Development; and Director, Commercial Strategy for the Darlington Nuclear Refurbishment Project. Prior to joining OPG, she practiced corporate law at Torys LLP in Toronto.

Kath holds a BA (Economics) degree from Huron College, University of Western Ontario, and an LL.B. from University of Toronto.

Michelle Lee
Director, Toronto

Michelle joined OMERS Infrastructure in 2006 and is responsible for the origination, execution and asset management of infrastructure investments, with a focus on the Americas. Her asset management duties have included: Associated British Ports, Ciel Satellite and Oncor.

Michelle was previously a Commodity Management Associate at Celestica, and her areas of expertise include financial analysis and project management.

Michelle has an Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering Science (electrical) from University of Western Ontario. Michelle is also a CFA® charterholder.

Tom Lees
Director, London
Tom Lees

In his role of Director, OMERS Infrastructure, Tom is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of infrastructure investments, with a focus in Europe.

Since joining OMERS Infrastructure in 2013, Tom has worked on the acquisition and management of OMERS investment in Ellevio, and has also been involved in the management of OMERS investment in HS1 and Airports Worldwide.

Prior to OMERS, Tom was at J.P. Morgan, where he was responsible for advising on the financing of and raising financing for infrastructure assets, including advising on OMERS acquisition of HS1 in 2010.

Tom holds an MA and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Mathematics from St. John’s College, Cambridge, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Alejandro Lopez Delgado

Alejandro Lopez Delgado

Alejandro is currently a Director in the London office of OMERS Infrastructure, and is responsible for the origination, execution and management of  infrastructure investments, primarily in Europe. Since joining OMERS Infrastructure in 2011, Alejandro has completed the acquisitions of Caruna, Ellevio, Tank & Rast, London City Airport, CLH and Port of Melbourne. In addition, he currently leads the asset management teams for Scotia Gas Networks and CLH, and previously led Caruna’s.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Alejandro accumulated significant experience in infrastructure investing at Mubadala Infrastructure Partners, Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners, and Cintra (Ferrovial Group). Alejandro also worked as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group.

Alejandro has an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and BSc, MSc Civil Engineering degrees from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid.

Adam Mendes
Director, Tax, Toronto
Adam Mendes

Adam is currently Director, Tax for OMERS Infrastructure. Adam joined OMERS in January of 2016. In his role as Director of Tax, Adam is responsible for the tax structuring and tax oversight of OMERS’ investments in the Americas and Australia.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Adam was a Senior Manager of Tax at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, leading the tax due diligence and tax structuring elements of transactions. Adam has extensive experience structuring transactions in Canada, the U.S., South America and Australia, and brings a unique combination of a business perspective and attention to detail needed in the changing global tax landscape. Adam began his career at KPMG LLP, where he worked in both the audit and tax functions.

Adam has a Honours Bachelor of Administrative Studies from York University, and holds the CPA and CA designations.

Cecilia Menghini
Director, Compliance and Ethics, Toronto
Cecilia Menghini

Cecilia is currently Director of Compliance and Ethics, dedicated to both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity. Cecilia joined OMERS Private Markets in 2015.

Prior to her present role, Cecilia was legal counsel at a global private markets investment manager, where she worked with the private equity, private debt and private infrastructure investment groups.

Cecilia began her career as a global securities associate in the New York offices of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP.

Cecilia earned her J.D., cum laude, from Cardozo School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University. 

Neil Mercier
Director, Project Management & Construction, Toronto
Neil Mercier

Neil is currently Director, Project Management & Construction, OMERS Infrastructure. Neil has been with OMERS since April 2016, and is responsible for providing oversight of all aspects of the major capital projects program planned for the Bruce Power site. In addition, Neil will support transaction teams at OMERS in performing due diligence and identifying key risks and risk management strategies associated with opportunities in the greenfield infrastructure sector worldwide.

Neil has more than 38 years of project management experience executing capital investment projects. These projects were located in Canada and internationally, covering various industries such as the petro-chemical, oil and gas, power generation, mining, infrastructure and heavy industrial sectors. Prior to OMERS, Neil held senior roles at Argex Titanium, SNC-Lavalin, Suncor Energy Services Inc. and Stone & Webster Canada Limited/Shaw Energy Canada Limited.

Mikhail "Misha" Nahorny
Director, London
Mikhail "Misha" Nahorny

Misha joined the London office of OMERS Infrastructure in 2011, and is currently a Director. 

Misha is responsible for the asset management of NET4GAS in the Czech Republic, and Tank & Rast in Germany. At OMERS Infrastructure, he has worked on multiple other transactions in energy and transport sectors in Europe.

Prior to OMERS Infrastructure, Misha worked on the energy M&A advisory teams of Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets and Citi. He started his career with Royal Dutch Shell.

Misha has a Bachelor’s degree from American University in Bulgaria, with majors in business administration and computer science. 

Simon Palagyi
Director, Sydney

Simon is currently a Director of OMERS Infrastructure.  He joined OMERS in 2017.  Simon is responsible for a range of investment origination and asset management activities in Australia, including OMERS’ investment in the Port of Melbourne.

Prior to joining OMERS Private Markets, Simon spent 11 years in Morgan Stanley’s Investment Banking Division, advising corporate, financial investor and government clients on M&A transactions, privatizations, financing and capital markets activities in the infrastructure, transport, energy and utilities sectors. He also previously held roles with the New South Wales Treasury and ABN AMRO Corporate Finance.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Accounting) and Master of Legal Studies, both from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

Toby Parkinson
Director, Legal, London
Toby Parkinson

Toby is a currently a Director, Legal with OMERS Infrastructure in the London office. He joined in April 2016.

Toby provides legal advice and support to the transaction teams in the London office regarding new investment opportunities and the management of existing assets across Europe and Australasia. His role also includes providing legal guidance for third-party capital raise efforts. 

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Toby was a member of the corporate practice at Clifford Chance LLP in London, specializing in domestic and cross-border M&A with a focus on infrastructure and private equity transactions. During his time at Clifford Chance, Toby spent three years in Tokyo, Japan advising Japanese trading houses on M&A in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Shelagh Paul
Director, Investment Communications, Toronto

Shelagh is the Director, Investment Communications at OMERS Private Markets, having joined the team in July 2017. In this role, Shelagh is responsible for the development and implementation of internal and external communications and media relations strategies related to the world-wide Private Markets investment program, across both the Infrastructure and Private Equity portfolios.

Prior to joining OMERS Private Markets, Shelagh worked for 21 years in the Canadian property and casualty insurance industry at both The Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company and Travelers Canada. Most recently, she served as Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Communications, and was accountable for leading, developing and executing marketing strategies, broker communications as well as internal communications initiatives for all facets of the corporate and business unit strategies. She also held roles in Operational Planning and Corporate Projects, Business Development and Business Performance, Sales and Marketing.

Shelagh completed a B.Sc., Environmental Science and Resource Management and a M.Sc., Urban Planning, both from the University of Toronto. She also holds a Masters Certificate in Marketing Communications from the Schulich School of Business.

Orla Ralston
Director, Tax, London, Infrastructure
Orla Ralston

Orla is Director, Tax in the London office, advising the OMERS Infrastructure investment team in relation to the tax and structuring aspects of their transactions across Europe.  Orla joined in July 2016.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Orla spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, working alongside the Merchant Banking Division on their European investments in real estate, infrastructure, debt and equity.  Orla was previously a tax associate at Slaughter and May from 1998 until 2005.

Orla holds a joint honours degree (LLB) in Law & Accountancy from Queen’s University Belfast and is qualified as a solicitor in Northern Ireland and in England and Wales.

Brodie Swartz
Director, Legal, Toronto

Brodie Swartz is currently Director, Legal with OMERS Private Markets’ Toronto office. In this role, he provides legal advice to transaction teams regarding new investment opportunities and the management of existing assets.  Brodie transferred to OPM in February 2017 after serving, most recently, as Vice-President, Legal with OMERS Administration Corporation and OMERS Platform Investments, which he joined in 2011.  

Prior to his work at OMERS, Brodie spent a combined ten years at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and McCarthy Tétrault LLP in Toronto and Clifford Chance LLP in London, UK.

Brodie received his BA (Hons) from the University of Western Ontario, and his LL.B. from the University of British Columbia.  He was previously recognized as a Lexpert Rising Star (leading lawyer under the age of 40 in Canada). Brodie is admitted to the Law Society of Upper Canada and to the Law Society of England and Wales.

Peter van Kleef
Director, Finance & Reporting, Netherlands
Peter van Kleef

Peter is currently the Director, Finance & Reporting of OMERS Infrastructure European Holdings B.V. in the Netherlands, and in that capacity leads the Amsterdam Office. Peter joined in October 2015.

Peter is active managing the Dutch platform that runs several of OMERS Infrastructure's investments in Europe from a finance and operations perspective. Prior to this, Peter worked in the real estate sector for more than 25 years, structuring both institutional and private funds. He was also active in real estate development and asset management. Peter started his career as an auditor.

Peter has a Master’s degree in Business Economics (BE) and an Executive Master of Finance & Control (EMFC) from the University of Amsterdam. He also has an Executive Master of Real Estate (MRE) from TIAS (University of Tilburg – Netherlands).

Alfred Chuang
Vice President, Finance Operations, Toronto
Alfred Chuang

As Vice President, Finance Operations, Alfred is responsible for providing leadership for the finance activities of both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity that are focused on business planning and analytics. He also oversees accounting, reporting and tax compliance for infrastructure and private equity investments, and the Netherlands platform. 

Alfred was previously with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, where he held leadership positions in business management, investment structuring, operations and asset management support for private equity, infrastructure, funds and private debt portfolios. Prior to this, Alfred was with RSM McGladrey Inc., where he provided financial due diligence for private equity transactions, and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in tax, audit and advisory. Alfred has also served on several for-profit and charitable boards.

Alfred is a CPA, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator, Certified Public Accountant (Colorado), and a Certified Fraud Examiner.

Ricky Chung
Vice President, Finance and Reporting, Toronto
Ricky Chung

Ricky is currently Vice President, Finance and Reporting, and leads the investment reporting team that supports both OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Equity with oversight of financial operations and financial reporting for both infrastructure and private equity portfolios. Ricky joined in 2002 and is based in the Toronto office.

Prior to this, Ricky was in public accounting with KPMG, providing assurance, tax and advisory services to public and private enterprises, primarily in the real estate industry. 

Ricky holds a Bachelor of Math and a Master of Accounting from University of Waterloo, and he is also a Chartered Professional Accountant, a Chartered Accountant and a CFA® charterholder.

Tenio Evangelista
Vice President, Government Relations, Toronto
Tenio Evangelista

Tenio is responsible for government relations at OMERS Infrastructure. He joined OMERS in September 2003. Tenio currently serves on the board of Teranet, and previously served on the board of Ciel Satellite. He has more than 13 years of government experience, and was a senior advisor to two federal Cabinet Ministers and Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. 

Jago Chung
Associate Director, Sydney
Jago Chung

Jago is currently an Associate Director of OMERS Infrastructure in Australia and, in that capacity, is responsible for evaluation and execution of infrastructure investment opportunities as well as asset management at portfolio companies. Jago has been with OMERS since 2009, and was initially based in London before he joined the Australian team in 2014.

Jago was involved in the acquisition of HS1 and Net4Gas, as well as asset management for HS1. Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Jago gained experience in Dresdner Kleinwort’s Power and Utilities team, where he was based in Hong Kong.

Jago has a Diplom Volkswirt (comparable to a Master of Economics) from the University of Trier in Germany. 

Michael Bloch-Hansen

Michael Bloch-Hansen

Michael is currently an Associate Director with OMERS Infrastructure, Europe. In that capacity, he works as part of the European investment team. Michael joined OMERS Infrastructure in 2009, and moved to the London office in 2013.

Michael is an active member of the OMERS Infrastructure transaction team, having participated in the successful acquisition of the Vento wind farm asset and London City Airport. He also supports the asset management of a number of OMERS investments, including Scotia Gas Networks, London City Airport and Airports Worldwide.

Michael has an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, Western University, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Marco Fontana

Marco Fontana

Marco is currently Associate Director with the OMERS Infrastructure team in London, which he joined in January 2014.

Marco is active in both origination and execution of transactions, as well as asset management. He served on the team that successfully completed the acquisition of a stake in Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (CLH). He is also actively involved in the asset management of OMERS Infrastructure's investment in HS1, and has also been involved in the asset management of Associated British Ports.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Marco worked as Investment Manager at EISER Infrastructure Partners, where he was responsible for the asset management of the fund's energy and waste sector assets in Italy, as well as energy and transport assets in the U.K. and Australia. Before that, Marco worked at Société Générale, both in Paris and London, in the acquisition financing and principal investment teams.

Marco holds M.Sc. degrees from Universita' Bocconi Milan and HEC Paris.

Simon Forsyth
Associate Director, Toronto

Simon is currently an Associate Director with OMERS Infrastructure. He is responsible for evaluating and executing asset acquisitions across a variety of countries and infrastructure sectors. Simon joined the team in 2013. He served on the acquisition team that completed the purchase of a stake in GNL Quintero in Chile.

Since coming onboard, Simon’s ongoing asset management responsibilities have included Teranet, Brampton Civic Hospital, Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, and Niagara Health System.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Simon worked for the Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets group and for Capstone Infrastructure Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and is a CFA® Charterholder. 

Peter Gray
Associate Director, Toronto
Peter Gray

Peter joined OMERS Infrastructure as an Associate Director in its Toronto office in January 2014. He focuses on the origination and execution of transactions across the energy, utility, power and transportation sectors in the Americas. Peter also supports the asset management of a number of OMERS Infrastructure's North American investments, including Bruce Power, Oncor Electric Delivery Company and the Detroit River Tunnel Partnership. Peter currently serves as a Director of the Detroit River Tunnel Partnership.

Prior to joining OMERS, Peter was an associate in the Infrastructure & Real Assets team at Allstate Investments. He began his career in the investment banking groups at HSBC and BoA Merrill Lynch in London, U.K.

Peter has a BS in Business Administration from Babson College, with a concentration in Finance, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Matt Liddle

Matt Liddle

Matt joined OMERS Infrastructure as an Associate Director in its Toronto office in October 2013.  Matt’s role includes evaluating, diligencing, and executing on new transactions across a variety of infrastructure subsectors. Matt also has an active role as part of the asset management team overseeing a number of OMERS Infrastructure’s North American investments. These have included: Brampton Civic Hospital, Chicago Skyway, LifeLabs, Niagara Health System, Royal Ottawa Hospital and Teranet.

Prior to joining OMERS Infrastructure, Matt was a Vice President at Macquarie Capital Markets. In Matt’s eight years with Macquarie, he advised clients on M&A transactions, capital raisings and strategic reviews, with a primary focus on the power and utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Matt also spent time in Macquarie’s diversified, leveraged finance and sponsor coverage teams.

Matt has an HBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, and a Masters of Finance degree from INSEAD.

Jean-Paul Marmoreo

Jean-Paul Marmoreo

Jean-Paul is currently an Associate Director at OMERS Infrastructure. He joined the team in 2007.

Jean-Paul is responsible for conducting due diligence for asset acquisitions as well as for ongoing asset management at portfolio companies. He is, or has been active with several investments, including Bruce Power, DynaLIFE, Express Pipeline, a portfolio of long-term-care facilities, North West Upgrading, a portfolio of schools in Nova Scotia, and Vento II. He is currently a board member of CannAmm. Jean-Paul previously worked at RBC where he provided analysis and recommendations related to corporate borrowings for Canadian and multinational energy companies.

Jean-Paul has an Honours Bachelors of Commerce and a Master in Economics from the University of Toronto. He also has an MBA from Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Varun Verma

Varun Verma

Varun is currently an Associate Director with OMERS Infrastructure in the New York office. Varun has been with OMERS since 2008. From 2008 to 2014, he worked in the Toronto office. After two years in the Sydney office (2014-2016), he relocated to New York.

Varun has been active on several investments for OMERS Infrastructure, including Teranet, Lifelabs, Niagara Health System and Express Pipelines. Varun has worked on transactions in North America, South America, Western Europe and Australia, across energy, healthcare, transport and regulated services. Varun became active on Australian pursuits starting in 2009, and focused on helping execute government privatizations of assets during his relocation there.

Varun has a Bachelor’s of Business Administration with Honours from the Schulich School of Business, York University. He is also a CFA® charterholder.

Delphine Voeltzel

Delphine Voeltzel

In her role as Associate Director, Delphine is involved in the origination, execution and management of infrastructure investments across Europe. Since joining OMERS Infrastructure in January 2012, Delphine has worked on a number of transactions, including the acquisitions of NET4GAS, Caruna and Ellevio.  Delphine is involved on the asset management of NET4GAS and Caruna.
 
Prior to joining OMERS, Delphine was at Rothschild, where she advised clients on M&A transactions in the utilities, transport and infrastructure sectors.
 
Delphine holds a Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Economics from Sorbonne University, and a Master of Science in Management from HEC Paris. 
 

Dmitry Yashnikov

Dmitry Yashnikov

Dmitry is currently an Associate Director with OMERS Infrastructure’s European transaction team. He is involved in the origination, evaluation and execution of new opportunities, as well as management of portfolio companies. Dmitry joined OMERS Infrastructure in October 2013.

Since joining OMERS, Dmitry has worked on a number of transactions, including Caruna, Ellevio, Tank & Rast and London City Airport. He has also been closely involved in asset management of Associated British Ports and Ellevio.

Prior to joining OMERS, Dmitry was part of Citigroup’s Transportation and Infrastructure team in London, advising clients on M&A transactions and capital raisings primarily across the airport and port sectors.

Dmitry holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Andrew Robinson

Andrew Robinson

Andrew is currently Manager of Compliance and Ethics, dedicated to both OMERS Infrastructure Europe Limited and OMERS Private Equity Europe Limited. Andrew joined OMERS Private Markets in 2016.

Prior to joining OMERS Private Markets, Andrew was the Compliance Officer for the London office of a global asset manager focusing on equity and multi-asset portfolios in emerging and frontier markets. Before that, Andrew was Compliance Manager for a global alternative asset manager across a range of asset classes in both developed and emerging markets including private equity, real estate, commodities and equities.

Andrew began his compliance career as a regulatory consultant with a leading global provider of regulatory compliance consulting services to the asset management and securities industry.  

Andrew holds a B.A. Hons from Nottingham Law School.
